Audio and Lighting Suggestions?

I'm finally on my way to assembling a starter's digital studio. After researching the options, I decided the Panasonic DVX100 is the camera I want to work with. It's ordered - not backordered! - and will arrive next week.

Two areas I want to get right are audio and lighting. In my opinion, these are crucial but often overlooked in indie productions.

I'd like to get a decent microphone setup. I've researched, read, browsed, and I still can't make up my mind. I assume I'll use a boom setup more than anything else (although a shotgun mic would be great to have and someday I'll find a decent argument for using wireless.)

Any suggestions on the right balance between cost / features / performance for audio and lighting options?
