Are the HVR-Z1P and HVR-Z1U essentially the same???

Hello,

I live in Australia and need a full HD PAL camera. I have been researching a few models and have come across a SONY HVR-Z1U for a good price. In Australia the most common model is the Z1P which is sold as the PAL version and I know the camera has the ability to switch between NTSC and PAL. My question is are the Z1U and Z1P the same camera? Do they both record in PAL in all modes?

I hope my question makes sense.

I think when you render files in your movie editing software you then choose PAL as format. don't think it matters what camera you use. Wait and see other responses I am not familar with those cameras.
