need advice for my first music video shoot

hey all,

I've just started planning for my first ever proper shoot and am just looking for any tips or advice that will help me through it.

The video is for an established singer/songwriter and could be a great stepping stone for me, I'm confident yet still a bit nervous.

I will be shooting in b/w outdoors at 3 different locations with a very low winter sun to deal with, and also some interior shots with her playing piano.

the song itself has a great contrast between uplifting piano sounds and quite downbeat lyrics and this is the mood i am trying to capture in the video.

i will be using a canon hg10, and am doing the video for free.

please, any advice/tips that will hold me in good stead, much appreciated. thanks.

edit:
one thing i really need to know is if i should film using the b&w setting on the camera or film in colour and change it to b&w during editing?
