sony or canon?

Ok, I'm doing some research before I go and spend this 3 or 4 thousand dollars that I dont really have. I need some help though. I like the canon xh-a1 but that sony hvr-z5u looks like a good buy too. Somebody please send me in the right direction. Thanks...

Your best bet is to probably try to find someone or somewhere that has them and will let you play with both for a while to decide which better suits your needs and comfort. Personally I've always liked the image quality of canon over sony, and panasonic generally trumps both to my eye.

You would have to find something local to you I think.. I seriously doubt that B&H would send you a demo model or anything.. Now, if you were in New York, and could go into their store -- that might be different, I don't know.
