lighting a hospital scene

Use the existing florescents as practicals and rent some Kino Flos for more light. Find out what color temperature they are (look for the model name/number, then look them up).

be careful about your shutter speeds if you're shooting under florescent lighting, because if your shutter speed matches the flicker of the bulbs then all your images will strobe.

Depending on how good/new the ballasts are in the fixtures... newer ones run at a higher frequency that will not show up as flickering or pulsing color, whereas older ones were built to lower specifications so have those problems... cheaper ones too.

You can add green to all your lights then white balance to get your lights to match the flourescents... or wrap the flourescent bulbs in a minus green (magenta) sleeve to get rid of the green in the flourescents.

or you can design your lighting so that you paint color using the greenish cast from the flourescents for effect.

It still has lights but not overly bright. what would you recommend? i have a tota, omni, rifa and prolight. the prolight is 200W and the rest are 500W.
