Apollo 18 - about 2 out of 10. I really lost interest before things started to go bad with the mission.

After this I don't think I'll bother with any "found footage" films anymore. After I agreed to see Paranormal Activity 3 with my son, I think its just an excuse to not bother putting any effort into getting good footage. BTW I would only give that a 3.

Well, I saw a musical play, which there doesn't seem to be a thread for.

Wicked (10/10) Absolutely stellar. Beautifully written, composed and thought out, and the little production house I saw this at did a great job.

The Descent - ?/10 - I really don't know what to rate this. Rosario Dawson was good, but the revenge plot was awful and the final scene was over the top, mainly from the audio side. I really didn't like it but have to give props to the director of doing a haunting scene.

As for plays, I saw Red a month ago - 9/10 - fantastic. I forget how great plays are

I'm going to go ahead and say that "Cabin in the Woods" is an absolute MUST SEE!!!

This movie is so awesome. It works as horror. It works as comedy. It works as an intelligent satire. Holy crap, if you are even slightly a fan of the horror genre, I highly implore that you see this movie ASAP.

It drags on, slightly, at one part, so it's not at all perfect, but I'll give it an "A-", and that will likely put it in my top-10 of the entire year, when it's all said and done.

I'm not going to review it until its UK release but if there are any Americans on here who haven't seen THE RAID: REDEMPTION yet, do so now!

This is a must see for anyone who has an interest in action cinema (in the same way that I'd recommend The Cabin in the Woods for anyone who has an interest in horror). And it was shot for 1,100,000 dollars which is not that out of reach...

The Chameleon - 6/10. Average film, nothing shocking or surprising. Was nice to see Famke though

Yeah, but that's like 5 trillion-kajillion rupiah.

Actually, I can't wait to see that movie. It's been in my targets for many weeks, and I'm very glad that it's finally playing at my theater. As soon as my work-weekend is over...

Oh, and did I mention how awesome "Cabin in the Woods" is? Honestly, it's been on my mind since I saw it last night. It's a true gem.

Yeah. Cabin In The Woods. I was looking forward to this when it was slated for a January 2010 release. It was 100% worth the wait. Can't say enough good things about it. Go see it. Now. I'll wait. I don't imagine I'll see anything else this year I like this much.

And, yes, that includes the Hobbit, coming from a self-confessed fantasy junkie.

cabin in the woods was okay imho. i like the spoofy side of it but i just didnt connect with any characters at all in fact was kind of bugged by a couple of them. cool ending tough from a gory perspective but really don't see how or why it's being promoted as 'groundbreaking' and 'a game changer'....big picture wise, it's quite average.

The Passion of the Christ - 6.5/10 --- Rather brutal.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0335345/

Winters Bone - 8.5/10 --- Very well done.

The Lovely Bones - 8.5/10 --- Another good film, tough to watch of you're a parent. The sound design was terrific.

For all those who desperately wanted, and missed, my extended thoughts on The Cabin in the Woods- here's my review!

I also saw Salmon Fishing in the Yemen which I thought very little of. Full review available!

And Mirror Mirror which I was equally disappointed with... full review also available...

Been watching Outcasts. Haven't watched the whole season (series) yet, but so far pretty good. It's tone and drama do seem quite a bit along the lines of SG-U, another show I liked a lot. Need a good TV Scifi fix? Check it out, see what ya think. The whole cast is good. Liam Cunningham is a a stand out --what a soulful face and a good screen presence.

Saw a movie called 'Circumstance' at the Brisbane Queer Film Festival tonight, I was honestly a bit disappointed. I was expecting it to be better. I'd give it a 2 and a half out of 5. It was more depressing and infuriating than thought provoking for me.
