I'm writing a short monster movie about two detectives who are tracking down a creature with six tentacles that has escaped from a laboratory and is now eating the townsfolk. A lot of the movie is the interactions between the two detectives. It's sort of a parody of older monster movies while still maintaining a creepy suspenseful vibe. I really want this to be a movie the audience will love. None of the special effects are being done digitally; there will be lots of slime, blood, and small explosions near the end. I'm challenging myself to do this whole movie old school. It's also being shot on a Canon 518 super 8.
So has anyone here made a monster/creature movie? I love the genre and I'd really like to hear how it went for you and to see your film. Also If you've made your own monster costume please tell me about it.
