I am a Pinewood Studios based camera man shooting and lighting an upcoming short called GIFT FROM GOD, written and directed by an emerging award-winning director William Kee.
The film is a short but powerful drama about family, loss, nostalgia and revenge. It will be approximately 5 minutes long and be made over the course of 3 days (1 prep, 2 shooting) at Pinewood Studios, UK. I won't divulge too many details about the plot, but the script is great.
There is a professional team of talented cast and crew on board with this project which is currently in pre-production stage. All have experience in the film industry and are working for free because of the potential of the project.
I will be shooting on RED Epic, lenses are yet to be decided but potentially Cooke S4i primes. Fortunately, all camera, lighting and grip gear is being provided for free.
However, the producer of the short is starting a KICKSTARTER campaign to raise the budget we need for location hire and to cover insurance costs amongst other things that add up. It is pointless having all this talent and top of the range equipment for free if the location lets us down.
