Why do you think the quality of these --Canon T3I made-- videos came out so different

I'll probably end up answering my own question in this post, but hey I wanna share my thoughts among the community and search for knowledge/opinions anyway.

I've been scouring YouTube recently for short films that have been produced with a Canon T3I as their primary camera. In doing so I found an array of videos, but with many of them varying in production value. I know things like sound quality, acting, color grading, having a widescreen look, camera movement, framing, lighting, and production design can make a worlds difference, but Jesus Christ some of the videos I found look decent enough to be shown on the small screen in some regard if not in select theaters on the silver screen.

With a relatively inexpensive DSLR camera such as the Canon T3I being used in the better works i've seen, I was happy to see that it's true that the person/people behind the production will make all the difference in a final product--versus the device/camera used itself.

What do you think? Why did some of the videos I didn't enjoy as much come out the way they did? How could have they been better? Would you have done anything differently? If so, what? If not, why not?

Yes. You answered your own question.

Knowledge of and skill at camera movement, lighting, art direction, story, and editing are what make the difference (I watched without sound since this is a camera discussion).
