Eros & Psyche: animatic analysis

Greetings filmmakers!

This thread is dedicated to sharing with you a 15 minute animatic of the story of Eros & Psyche.
The 3D animation in the works, is broken up scene by scene, so that we can analyze it better.

At this early stage we are looking for any wisdom you could spare, but more specifically, we want
to make sure the voice actors match the parts real well, and maybe how to improve it.

This production is "limited animation" kind of like Archer, in that there will be no extravagant 200+
character Broadway musicals, so good cinematography and dialogue will be the focus of these
web series.

Any help with this project will be rewarded with your name in the credits (if you so chose).
Thank you in advance for keeping an eye on this thread.

The animatic for two older and somewhat envious sisters:

Story so far:
Psyche was so beautiful that all the men and women in the land came to admire her while ignoring her two older sisters. This did not sit very well with the envious sisters, who plotted against Psyche to undermine her popularity.

Who is your target audience? Male, female, kids, age range?

There are a lot of characters so both male and female audience members could get a kick out of it.
As for age range, as much as I'd like to think 10-50, that's probably not realistic. Most moderately
well rounded adults know the Greek legends, but admit that it was a childhood fab. So... 10-30-ish.

At this point production is the most important thing... remains to be seen who's gonna like it :D

Game cinematics like Lara Croft are definitely a big inspiration.

Lara Croft

As for movies, the Japanese are beating a path as wide as a football field in this realistic 3D genre. Check out
Harlock: Space Pirate, the Appleseed series, Final Fantasy and Resident Evil just to name a few.

However, most of these movies and game cinematics are motion captured, so we have yet to see realistic
looking 3D animation animated the old fashioned way.

But to tell you the truth buscando, these characters are stock and are the only ones available to me right now.
I wish I could work with more cartoony characters, because the animation would be easier, but this project is
in its infancy, and it might take a while to afford custom characters.

Thank you for the feedback buscando, much appreciated!
Baltsaro's lines might sound a bit odd now because the script was changed.
We'll have to re-record his lines, so if it sounds out of place, or stereotypical,
we'll change his character.

You're welcome. To be clear, I don't think his actual lines in the script are out of place.
The way he talks just seems to fit a black guy really well, I don't know if that's wrong or right.
Maybe if you lighten his skin so he's ethnically ambiguous & keep the voice performance the way it is.
Because I do like how it has a bit of humor there, if that doesn't take away from your intention.
I could be reading too much into it.
See what other people say, I could be wrong.

The fame of her beauty was so great that strangers from neighboring countries came in crowds to enjoy the sight, and looked on her with amazement, paying her that homage which is due only to Aphrodite herself. In fact Aphrodite found her altars deserted, while men turned their devotion to this young virgin. As she passed along, the people sang her praises, and strewed her way with chaplets and flowers. What do you guys think of the editing? Flows alright?

Hello gang,

Here's the sequence for Aphrodite. This was the hardest one to set up so far because of
her expressive way of talking. The body language and facial expressions are not all there,
but hopefully the animatic works well so far cinematically.

Does Aphrodite's voice over match the character?
