Moving light technique??

Hi all,

I have seen a few times a technique in promos where lights seem to move. I'm shooting a spot in the next few weeks we I'd like to use this technique. I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find anything about how this is achieved. An example is here:

Any ideas what kind of set up i need to get this? I love how the lights moves around the subject.

You can move it manually, you could put the light on a dolly, you could use an overhead rig...

Let us know the specific effect you're going for and we can advise.

You could use roller stands:

For the shots you link to it looks like the light was very simply paned right
while on the stand. Or a grip could have just walked by holding the light.
You could use a wheelchair or a skateboard.
