Miami!?

I now know two filmmakers who've moved from L.A. to Miami. They swear it's a nearly untapped mecca for indie funding. Great weather. Beautiful locations. Lots of money and potential investors who haven't been either sucked dry or hit on 20 times a day, seven days a week, to fund a film project like people in L.A. Anybody else heard this?
