Best headphones...for outdoors.

I decided the headphones I have are just not good enough for outside. I was still able to hear the busy traffic. It was difficult to really really know how the audio was coming over through the lav.

Most of what I do is indoors so I really didn't have to worry but now I have some outdoor projects and I want to invest in a really good pair of noise cancelling headphones.

I have tried some out in music stores...but am looking for your experience. I know there are names out there like Bose and Dr Dree...but I am sure their are headphones out there that are just as good without the brand name behind them...or maybe not.


So what headphones do you recommend?

I love my Sony MDR-7506. I just finished an ambiances shoot in Chicago where I recorded many hours on end all around the city. The isolation was very good and they were comfortable to wear for long periods. The sound quality was very good and I could hear many fine details. Not bad for under $100
