Music for my (dialogue free) short

I shooting a short in the next couple of days that would, I guess, fit into a drama/art-house classification. The cinematography is fairly stylised. It's based on something I wrote a while ago, but have modified for a competition. I don't have any real sound gear, so I've cut all the dialogue out. I would like to record some Foley, but have no foreseeable way to do so :/

Anyway, because of this, it will require some music to help carry the piece where the diegetic sound is lacking particularly. Not a great fix, but it's about the best I can manage. The actual premise is hard to explain, but are the any composers free at the moment who are willing to negotiate (it will be unpaid, or paid very poorly at best).

If you have a smart phone, there are a number of free sound recording apps. Find a quiet place with no refrigerator, a/c, or screaming penguins in the background and then start making sounds. A lot can be done with the human voice. Grab some wood, metal, bits of junk, etc. and start making sounds that work with your film. Then transfer the files to your computer and edit away. Mind you, the audio will not be top shelf quality, but it may turn out surprisingly well.


Another option is to look for some free sound effects online that will work for your project. Google "free sound effects" and you should find plenty of sites. Just make sure you pay attention to any license or attribute requirements.

Yah i have done this stuff before, I am just looking to step things up a little. I also live in a university hostel (one room, awful acoustics and constant noise) so it's not the greatest place to record sound (I'm new to the city, and don't know anyones house I could borrow either).
