Best 3 Axis Gimbal for Light Cameras?

Hi, my name is Philip and I am going to be investing in a Movi/DJI Ronin type stabilizer very soon. I would like to get opinions on brands that are a little less pricey but still good quality for a DSLR type camera.

Thanks.

I only have experience with a Movi M5 and I like the fact that it is relatively lightweight. A Ronin with out payload weighs as much as a Movi with camera.

The Nebula 4000 Lite has a completely different design that the ones I've been looking at, but it actually looks amazing. The weight capacity might be a problem, though. It says it works well with cameras like the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, Sony A7s, and Panasonic GH4, but I use a bigger DSLR camera.

Thanks for the reply--I might check the Nebula out anyways.

Turbo Ace Allsteady 5

Hi Phillip,

Take a look at our gimbal called the Allsteady 5. It's designed for DSLR cameras a large as the Canon 5D Mk iii and in some cases slightly larger cameras.

We fully assemble and tune the gimbal for you. Depending on your camera and lens, we can even balance the gimbal for you.

Get the DJI Ronin!

Hi Philip,

We have and use both the MoVI M15 and the DJI Ronin. We also recently ditched our MoVI M10!! The reason we ditched the MoVI M10 and not the considerably cheaper DJI Ronin is that the latter is more versatile, especially when utilising lightweight DSLRs.

Also, if you ever wanted to put a bigger camera on in the future, having the space to do so could be a big advantage. Especially if you plan to hire the gimbal out as well. We just stuck the FS7 on ours.

depends on the software and settings.

When truly stable you can roll, tilt and pan, but the camera won't turn on any axis.

A Movi i.e. has been set in a way that when I'm operating it alone a pan wider than 10 degrees is seen as a command to turn the camera that way. The same can be done with tilting. Or choose to keep it horizontal at all times.
