Do you think that streaming services has made distribution tougher for

Basically when it comes to cable services like Netlfix and ones like that, a lot of indie filmmakers sell their movies to that, instead of DVD distribution.

But do you think that hurts indie filmmakers since Netflix does not make as much money, compared to DVD sales in stores? It seems to me that distribution may be more difficult because of Netlfix, and services like that. What do you think?

Netflix and SVOD provide an up-front payment, so you're guaranteed $x rather than recouping per each home video sale.

Not only that, but SVOD has hardly made home video irrelevant, so you're able to sell into SVOD and then also sell into home video as well.

Additionally, SVOD is increasingly being sold alongside theatrical rights (as opposed to after the fact). That is, films at Sundance (for example) may sell both their theatrical rights and SVOD rights at the one festival, increasing up-front $
