AG-AF100...not too shabby

A Panasonic full-frame 35mm video camera. Looks pretty good, and for considerably less than the Red One. Anybody used this one?

There's already a thread on the AG-AF100 here :) It actually has a 4/3" sensor, not full-frame 35mm, which seems to be the sole domain of the Canon 5D - the RED uses a Super 35 sized sensor.

I had a play with one at BVE last week, and although using it in person made me slightly more convinced about its advantages over its competitors, there are still a few things that I really don't like; the sensor size makes getting wide angles quite difficult, AVCHD is an absolute pain in the arse to work with (even compared to the H.264 files from Canon DSLRs) and in person I wasn't entirely convinced about the position or quality of the EVF. The guys at the Panasonic stand had mounted a Cineroid EVF on an arm above and slightly in front of the flip out screen, which I think says it all.

However… with a nice selection of glass, extra EVF and nanoFLASH or KiPro Mini it'd be absolutely fantastic - it's just a shame that Panasonic didn't have the foresight to fix some of these problems before. At this point in time, if it was my money and I had to go with a 4/3" sensor, the GH2 seems like it'd be a more sensible investment.

Yep. I agree. My fiance is a semi serious still photographer and we wanted a camera to fit both our needs is the reason I went with the 5D. My choice alone I probably would have bought the GH2.

I like this camera too, but it's important to remember that the Canon 5D is currently half the price. Since this is the first large sensor prosumer camcorder (I think it is, at least), the price may be inflated.
