Ok back acupple years ago i remember talking to some one on a different forum about ideas for a film. I just rememberd about one of the ideas she said and was thinking about writing a script for it. Their would be no way for me to contact her because i dont remember the name of the forum. Is their possibilities of me getting sued for using her idea? Even if i write the script?
Will their be leagle issues with my script?

Ideas can't be copywrite protected. People steal ideas all the time. Go for it.

Generally you can't copyright an idea, but sometimes it can be a gray area, such as if it's a combination of ideas. Howard Stern sued over that show "Are you hot?" when his ideas were "stolen". Besides the idea for the show they used a laser light just as they had used on "the Evaluators" on Howard's radio / TV show. There were other ideas. I can't think of the rest of them.
