watch Nowhere Johnny trailer #3

So I wrapped Nowhere Johnny for awhile now and I heard back from Tribeca recently. It wasn't accepted. I'm still waiting on word from other festivals, including the Asian American fest in Philly. Here's the new third trailer that captures the spirit of the film most accurately, enjoy:

hey man, just gona say it like i see it, the trailer was lie for 3 different films, you had the wheres johnny? and i get the money back or i am dead scenario and then it shifted focus to the boxer, and then it moved to some weird triangle of love. i personally think you should re-edit the trailer and make it clear what the movie is about

widescreen is fine, but it looks like you took the image and pressed it down into wide, rather than adding the black bars over the image to maintain the correct aspect ratio. All of the actors faces are squished.

It's funny. I used to add black bars onto my movies, but then someone at this forum said formatting the aspect ratio to 1920x816 in Final Cut Pro is true widescreen and, yeah, whoever this guy was said many films do the same thing, I believe his example was Revenge of the Sith and so forth. I suppose it's meant for theatrical and not YouTube.

And he was right, he didn't mean to squeeze the image. He meant cropping the image to 1920x816. The difference between both is that the pixel has to stay square.

Haha. I just realized there's a drop down tab to crop in the formatting window. Thanks. I see the difference now. Looks better.

Looks good

Thanks.

I gotta keep hustling. Make sure it gets out there.

It's still squashed a little.:(

Try http://www.indietalk.com/showthread.php?t=45266
Then just uploading in regular youtube 1920x1080 high def aspect ratio.

FWIW, your volume of worthwhile content impresses me. http://www.youtube.com/user/FilmmakingJet/videos?view=0
I wish I had the time and respect how much effort you put into your productions.

I actually did that. Just uploaded in the standard 1920x1080 while revising the trailer a bit. I uploaded one with the crop, but it cut off some of my shots. I see know why some people tape their monitors. Or is that not why they do it? Haha.

And thanks for that compliment. I love filmmaking. My great passion. I don't claim to be a 100% pro, but it's my goal to be a master one day through trial and error. I thank God for this drive inside of me.
