watch ZOMBIE short

This is a short 2 min narrative we made recently. The idea was to create sponsored entertainment in a short form. The followup will be longer with more character development and story but for now I think it was very well done.

Would love to hear thoughts and how you might tackle a second, more developed piece....

Thanks!

Camerawork looks great.

Quit thinking like a cameraman. Start thinking like the characters.
Would you really stand thirty feet away from slow moving zombies and fire with a small caliber snubby pistol BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM as fast as you can empty the cylinder? Really?
What would you do? - Then write for that. THEN start thinking like a cameraman and figure out your choreography with the situation to capture it on film.

They're slow f#cking moving zombies. Run up on them and take your time popping them one at a time. One shot one kill.
More unlimited blunt object decephalication. Less consumption of limited bulletary resources.

And if someone fired an AR behind us over our shoulders in the tight quarters of a long hallway - we'd flinch on that first shot.

Action film audiences tend to be smarter than a house... cat.
Don't take them out of your experience by making them shout and yell at the characters for doing stupid things. What's next? He falls down?

I thought it was excellent! Loved the camera work as well as the editing.

Was this for a commercial or something?

Visually it is great! The looks, lighting, and camera angles work.
The storyline is lacking, well, it looks like a scene from a bigger sequence.

The beginning is not very believeable, the actor seems very relaxed while shooting, and all of a sudden he's very stressed an unable to put the bullets in the gun. A bit weird. Also there is clearly lots of places to go, while he is just trying to put the bullets in, there is no reason for him not to move... This can cause people to lose interest, as the main character does not seem to have interest either to keep alive :)

The laser view is good but too obvious to the viewer. Plus the actor does not react to shootings happening behind him...

A better story would make it more engaging.
