The low-budget bubble has well and truly burst

The real question is: did those makers from 2010 move upwards?
Or did they perish?

Most of them were probably garbage.
I'm sure a few talented and motivated ones moved upwards.

It's the natural way of things.

plus: 2010 was when the DSLR hype started. So a lot of people were excited to just use a 5D and shoot low budget.

The proportion of filmmakers who never make a second feature is very very very high.

That would perfectly fit the DSLR hype, bandwagon, desillusion train of thought.

Calling it a bubble suggest there went a lot of money into it, but low-budget! It's not like a cryptobubble. :P
