Nielsen Reviews Digital Awards in Cinematography

ALL film submissions are guaranteed a professional film review, published in Nielsen Reviews and the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) by the end of December, and are eligible for Digital Awards in January.

The prestigious Nielsen Reviews Digital Awards in Cinematography are awarded annually in January, and to celebrate the nearing of this year's deadline, films are now being accepted at all-time low entry fees.

This limited-time Year-End Holiday Special will only last until December 31, so if you would like a professional film review in an international film publication with a global audience and consideration of your film for our prestigious Digital Awards selection in less than two months, submit your work before December 31. We will publish a professional review of your film by the end of December and announce the Award Winners in mid-January – less than 2 months away.

So, first off - please don't spam Indietalk! There's no need to post this in six different forums, especially ones that aren't at all related to what you're posting.

Second - it appears you've just started a blog where you review independent films. You've currently got only five reviews - the oldest of which is from just over two weeks ago - and you're trying to charge for reviews.

That's all fine, but it feels like you're trying to wrap it up in something that seems bigger and more important as a way to justify charging for it. You describe the site as an "international film publication with a global audience" but considering it's age and current amount of content I'm guessing it's a rather small 'international' audience at this point. You promise a "professional review" but don't have any information about who these professional reviewers are - the only person listed on the site appears to be a history major either still in college or recently graduated. You describe your awards as "annual" and "prestigious" but it appears this January will be the first time you've ever done them.

Don't get me wrong - I think the concept for the site is a good one. I just think you're jumping way ahead of the train here. The reviews you do have are certainly thorough, but also a bit overwrought - they feel like they could use the work of a good editor. I think over time you could build the site into something more like what you're making it out to be - but right now it comes across as if you're trying to pull something over on people to get money out of them.
