Question about shooting fight scenes on a low budget.

I was watching this film riot episode:

And they talk about how they shot their fight scene. A lot of times in the indie world, they will have the cameras either on a steadicam or hand held, since they don't have time to put in on rigs to keep it more still I read. They talk about this in the video as well. However if you fast forward 5 minutes into the video, Josh says that they shot an entire fight scene in 2 hours. The fight in my opinion was not bad, but not that good either. Couldn't they have spend more than 2 hours on it, or is only a couple of hours the way things are shot in the indie world, which is why there is a lot of hand held cam movies nowadays?

They were likely shooting on a time limit with use of the area that they shot in.

For fight scenes, spend as much time as you need and for what schedule allows. But don't linger on certain aspects that you just can't get.

The first half of the warehouse shoot took about 5-7 hours in a single day.

The first half of the one on one with the guns took about 2 hours
The second half with the hand to hand took about 3-4 hours total on 2 separate days.

It all depends on what you want to see. We're quick when we shot because that's how long we usually have with our actors/actresses because of their own schedule.

On average we find ourselves spending at least 2-4 hours per fight.
