"MIND - The Aftermath", a 20 minutes SCI-FI short

Hi there,

Three years ago I made this account, lurked the forums for a month or so and finally made my first thread asking for advice on what equipment should I spend my money on. The goal at that time was to make a 10 minutes chase as my first short film ever.

Here is the thread:

Shoot for the Sun to land on the Moon is my motto and instead of a 10 minutes chase I made this 4 minutes short for about 800$. Admittedly I was time constrained by a contest I wanted to submit it in the first place so I decided to cut many things to still be able to deliver it in time.

Here is the chase short:

Interestingly, I managed to win 3rd place and won 500 Euros, getting back my invested production budget. That was so sweet, coupled with the fact that I got 100k views really fast by being picked up by Vimeo I was very happy.

Now, this was 3 years ago, and since then... I've done nothing. Oh, but I wanted to do so many, but did none.

Now, I am set. On May the 10th I am starting the shoot on location for my next project, my second short. This time a lot more challenging, again, going for the Sun.

What is "MIND - The Aftermath"?
It's a short film based on a larger, more complete story I managed to round up in the last couple of years. I chose this part of the story because of budged and practical reasons.
The short will follow Andrew, a young individual that, with the help of a complex security A.I called Yona, travels through the ruins of Great Gallatus, an eaten by time city on Earth, in an attempt to reach a certain place that may undo this terrible future. Even though Andrew is the last human on this ruined Earth, he is not alone, as machines that used to obey their human masters are now roaming Earth, struggling to survive as their own software expired many years ago.

What's the shopping list this time?

What are my questions?
1.What do you guys feel about those items I want to buy? Do you feel they are good or can you recommend something else?

2. For people that have done effect shots got any advice for me on the shooting day?

3. I am romanian, and my crew is romanian. English spoken by romanians sounds russian like. To hit a wider target I don't thing it's ok to make the dialogue in romanian but I think it's better and safer than in bad english. Or should I go and hire some voice actors to do AR to replace the bad english accent? Will this cost me a lot for 10-15 lines of dialogue pe character?

4. I've bought some Nerf guns and painted them to look real. Is there a problem if I use nerf guns but no logo is seen?

Thanks a lot guys. I a have a lot more to talk about but I think it's enough for now.
