Writers Block

The method to counter writers block is to always have a creative and flexible mind. Don't be afraid to explore new things. Don't stick to common stuff; come out of the box. Write as much as you can. Write everyday, even if it's just a paragraph. Tell a simple story or have ideas or concept in your head, just juggling to come out on paper. There's no straight answer to your question other than just write.

One remedy for creative block is to alter your "circumstances" and get out of the rut. You're not creating anything new because you aren't experiencing anything new. Start shaving on the left side instead of the right side. Drive a different route to work (if you have a "real" job). Take a pottery class (or anthropology, or….). Take up philately. Go to a museum, art exhibit, whatever. You get the idea.

You stand on the start-line with your brand new bicycle, thinking this will be easy. You're about to race a guy with a huge belly and you've tested your new bicycle and it's the best you ever had. As you glance over at your opponent you see that he only has one tiny pedal on his, so you tell yourself that you can do this, there's no chance in hell that he can move forward as fast as you - his vehicle only has one tiny pedal. - for Christ's sake. You haven't realized that he's sitting on something with an engine. Then the race is on. You hear a wrooom, a whoosh and then silence, as he has vanished behind the horizon. You pedal on, try to go faster, but can't keep up with him. It's impossible, so you start feeling weak and are out of ideas. Pedal block.
