Question for a project

So my first short is going to be a "re make" of my friend's graduation project.

It is about a kid who craves the knowledge of being able to play the guitar really well. The antagonist is a guitarist known as The Shredder. They end up in a shred off guitar challenge la la la.

Little cheesy, cliche short.

The biggest problem I see with shooting this is the "shred off" part where they are playing against each other. Would it be best to record it off set and have the actors just act it out and sync it later?

I'd imagine that's the best way...

Any tips on this would be much appreciated :)

Yes it would be best to pre-record them and have them sync while your filming, it'll make your audio consistant.
You might even want to record it on your set to get the acoustics just right.
