CODEC for Story Reel Export

I've cut a mountain of storyboards into a 2hr FCP project. This project is for preproduction reference only and will not be broadcast. Since it's mostly a bunch of stills, I'm hoping there's a CODEC out there that would compress quickly and still give me a decent image (for DP discussions).

Anyone have a suggestion for a codec that would suit these parameters?

- B&W Storyboards with translations, scales and dissolve effects applied.
- Scratch track (Dialogue, Music and Sound Effects)
- Delivered to DP via upload it to an FTP server.

FCP7 on a 2009 13" Macbook Pro.

Many Thanks

Thomas

I'd use a Quicktime container with either a x.264 codec. This would cut down on the size of the file the most but it'll take the longest time to encode but shouldn't be too long since it's mainly stills.

Alternatively you could use the Animation codec too. The files will be larger, slightly better quality and will encode faster.

The agencies I have worked for requesting animated storyboards used H.264. Keep the aspect ratio the same as your FCP project and it should look great on any laptop or dvd, which is most likely how they will present it to the client.
