Export to high quality mp4

ok guys i have a 422 file that i have put into mpeg streamclip and chosen mpeg-4/h.264 now i need to select limit data rate but i need it to be suitable for tv broadcasting (in nigeria) so what should i limit the mbps to? if i do 400 i get 11gb file is this enough or too much?

thoughts please?

Who are you delivering it to? You're probably better off asking them what they want than asking us. It's likely they won't want an h.264-encoded file because they'll end up re-compressing in their system anyway.

But in general no, 400mbps is way too high. For internet distribution you'll probably want to keep it under 2mbps, although you could run higher quality versions for people with faster connections at 6-8mbps. Digital broadcast is typically 19mbps. Blu-ray specs a maximum 40mbps data rate for video (48 total including audio).
