AH MAN, I had a link all ready to go and you beat me to the idea! Yes, an inflatable doll is PERFECT. I could buy a ton of them, and they are already air tight!

Thanks for all the ideas!

We blew up my wife in this short video. Check out the 3:10 mark.

The dummy was one that we blew up for one of the IndieMeet gatherings. Check out the 1:26 mark. I put a wig on it, because I knew I would have my wife blowing up in something.

Nice! That's very cool. I don't think I'll be able to use real explosives though, certainly not if we end up going legitimate with our permits/location.

Not a problem. Go to Det Films 4K or HD sites. I would suggest combining their Pre-keyed Blood Pumpkins with some pyro blasts footage. Pumpkins are among the Blood FX, here:

Blasts and Bursts, here:

Spark bursts, here:

For around $45 - $65, you have your footage. Just add a guy screaming. I bulge/warped my wife, with After Effects, as she exploded. But you can just overlay and dissolve, using any editing software. You don't need After Effects, but it's a nice touch.

Btw, the guy who blew my dummy up is a licensed pyrotechnician, Jimmy Gingsumrong. He does many indie movie effects.

Are you familiar with the composer Motoi Sakuraba? your score has the same vibe as his musics.

I'm not familiar with his work. My biggest influences are John Carpenter, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Tangerine Dream, Depeche Mode (especially Alan Wilder), and Nirvana. I composed this very quickly. I wanted a domestic and comical feel that ramps up when the shooting starts.

Well I loved it. for me it was really dreamy. 1:58 - 2:48 is the part I'm referring to.
