Beyond post production?

I need to get a better picture in my head of the film making process that begins when editing is completed and ends when your movie is released: (at a festival or in theaters or on TV or on video...)?

I am particularly keen to know what festivals require for feature entries? :?:

It all depends

Festivals require different things. Some festivals only accept film work, while others will accept almost any format. I would hit the free ones like TriggerStreet.com, or pay a dollar a minute at www.studentfilms.com.

There are so many different fests out there, so check out some of the festivals sites to see when they are accepting, how much, and what formats. Peace out.

Chris Gore book

I highly recommend a great book by Chris Gore called "The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide" if you are curious about Film Festivals. There's some good advice about what each Festival wants to see.

Also, he co-wrote a book with Mark Steven Bosko called "The Complete Independent Movie Marketing Handbook." I haven't read it, but I've glanced through it. Looks to be worth the price.

Both are available on Amazon.com
