I LOVE Pontypool. It is a damn crying shame not many people know of it. Also not known, but awesome is DEADGIRL. I highly recommend that movie. A movie of what would two high school boys do with a hot zombie chick chained to a table? It's more sophisticated than it sounds.

Also, this is semi-known, but not well enough... House of the Devil. It rings true to the era of films by Roman Polansky. A classic babysitter in creepyhouse movie, but in a nostalgic and new refreshing way.

I'll see if I can think of more.

The Guyver (Live Action)
The Guyver (Dark Hero)
To Die For 2 - Son Of Darkness
Hands Of Steel aka Atomic Cyborg
Best Of The Best

 holy crap i cant beleave you mentioned Guyver  I neither hate or like it but i just cant beleave you mentioned it!

Nemesis (1993)
http://www.amazon.com/Nemesis-Olivier-Gruner/dp/6305232679

Dark Star (1974)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069945/

The Call of Cthulhu 2006
http://www.cthulhulives.org/cocmovie/

The X from Outer Space (US, 1968)] aka
Giant Space Monster Girara

Garuda (Thailand-2004)

The Four Corners of Nowhere (never got distribution at Sundance 1993)

Hollywood Knights
Primer
The Courier (2007 Sabostudios)

I'd also list THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK. It was made in the late 1950s. It is the first cyborg movie ever made before the term "cyborg" even existed. It has a great Frankenstein twist with some original ideas never done in any other cyborg movie.

im set for the month with all these suggestions coz ive heard of hardly any!

here's another: frozen...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1323045/

about three friends who get stuck on a ski lift...for days.

ps: the ones ive seen are primer, best of the best, house of the devil and they are all awesome films!

  • Delicatessen: Watch the french w/ subtitles, not the english dub!
  • Jason X: Hysterically funny deconstruction of slasher films. Most people never saw this because it looked stupid. Heck, I thought it looked stupid, but I was bored, so I watched it. What I got was the best silly low-budget self-aware slasher film ever made.
  • Dark City: I'm still shocked by the number of people I've met who've never even heard of this film. If you watch the theatrical cut, skip to the title (or mute the sound until the title shows up and don't really look at the screen until then). The studio tacked on a horrendous opening monologue that gives away a major plot point. The director's cut gets rid of this monologue, but the pacing isn't as good. I'd recommend watching the theatrical version first, and then the director's cut if you're curious about it.
