Royalty Free/Student Films for use with Compositional Showreel?

I'm looking to build a portfolio of my compositional skills and am in need of royalty free/student films to compose for.

These could be past projects that you have worked on and wish for me to use.

Why not look for someone who is making a film that needs sound?

I have but that's more of a dedicated thing. Though I'm working on composing for a few shorts at the moment, I'm looking for already completed pieces of film that I can use straight away (without needing to work towards a desired completion date).

If it's just for a reel to get gigs, you could do what I did: rescore scenes from old movies. That gives you something to show people when they say "can I see what you can do". As you build a portfolio, you replace the rescore scenes with stuff you've done. Plus it's good practice!
