The Best S-VHS Camera

Talk about an original question, ha ha! :D What was the best S-VHS Camera ever made? I would assume the last of it's kind but I have no idea what that might be. And to satisfy your curiosity, there is absolutely no reason to this question. Totally random. I've simply been toying with the idea of buying one, but would want to buy one of the best. And yes, I really do mean an S-VHS camera:

I was turned to the dark side with Sony Beta cameras a long time ago in a newsroom far away. S-VHS's were used by convicts and lunch ladies to make porn, I think.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

OK, the one that will return you with the best video quality.

Thus leading my back to my same statement.... there is no such thing as "the best". You're asking a subjective opinion from several people, so there is no single "best".

10 print "there is no such thing as 'the best'"
20 goto 10

At this stage, when displaying S-VHS footage on an LCD, it will be very hard to tell which is "better". True interlaced video does not present itself the way it was intended on a progressive LCD/plasma screen. Hi-8, 3/4", S-VHS, and most other broadcast formats look pretty much the same on modern TV's.

That said, anything with a manual lens or a larger CD chip (1/2" or 2/3") will get a sharper video quality and even a little bit of shallow depth of field.

What makes you say that? Any comparisions, etc?
Please forgive me for not doing a full spec by spec comparison
for you between the Panasonic AG series and the JVC. Because
you said:

And to satisfy your curiosity, there is absolutely no reason to this question.
And doing a full comparison will take up quite a bit of my time.
I'm always glad to help, but in this case I'll suggest you satisfy
your curiosity by doing the research.

OK, the one that will return you with the best video quality.
You already know my opinion on this. You know indietalk's opinion
on this. So now it's up to you. If you're asking about lines of resolution
the answer is easy to find. If you're asking for personal experience,
you have my answer.
