1. Yes, there's the even more absurdly priced $75 Porta Brace AR-SF1 case or the extremely absurd $89 Strut STR-DR40WX case.

2. Google TASCAM DR-40 Tested media List. Download the PDF. It will show all of the approved (and NG) SD/SDHC cards that can be used with the DR-40.

3. There are no "set it and forget it" settings. You must adjust for each situation on an individual basis.

They are all either absurdly priced - or they have no holes for displays and cables, like this one. Sorry. I don't use a case.

I use inexpensive Komputerbay cards. You can't really beat the price - £15.49 for a 32GB card, and £28 for a 64GB card.
