2 wireless lavs, one H4N recorder

Yes, you can.

You are aware that the AT899 is just the lav, not the trans/rec system? If you are not using wireless you will also need to convert from the AT899 connector (4-pin, TA4 or TA5) to full sized male XLR.

Do you have the H4n update to record each channel at different volume levels?

Thank you. I found the h4N update. I am using the wireless system, but what is the procedure for making sure that the recordings don't cancel each other?

The H4N has 2., combo 1/4" / XLR inputs, one for each channel, R & L, located on the bottom. You also have a 1/8" stereo mini jack on the back. Plug an input into that and you cancel out the stereo mics on top of the unit. You can record up to four channels at one time Input 1, Input 2 and the two channel mini input.

Look at the mini jack above the speaker on the back.

You simply plug the lavs into the bottom input jacks, have the Zoom set on stereo in the Mode menu, select the input keys on the front left to 1 and 2 , hit record and VIOLA you will have a stereo recording of each lav, one on the R track, the other on the L track. To have a 4 channel recording, select 4CH in the Mode menu and you will have 2 stereo recordings, 1 w/ the 1&2 inputs and the other stereo track will have either the internal mics or the stereo input from the 1/8" mini. Easier than putting socks on a rooster !
