looking to upgrade

I have had a Canon HV30 for about a year and a half now and it's done its job fairly well, but now I'm looking to upgrade to something a little more professional. I'm going to be filming music videos for some local bands I know soon and hope to get my work out there. I've been looking at the Sony FX1000 for awhile now, any comments on the fx1000, or any other suggestions in that price range? Thank you.
