60fps or Time Remap

any type of slowness, if you can do 60fps, do it...

you would rather have the extra frames, than having to make up frames...

If in doubt...

Shoot scene at 60fps. Afterwards, shoot scene at 24fps.

You definitely don't want to use 24fps for slo-mo. It looks like crap. Shoot 60fps, and if you end up deciding to keep it in regular-mo, there's no reason why you can't use the 60fps footage (the extra frames will just be dropped, and it will look just fine).

Or, as Steve mentioned -- shoot both. I mean, how long does it take to shoot a guy stepping out of a car?

Pretty much what they said...I would recommend shooting both to try it out and then you will see which method you prefer for next time.

Here's an illustration with some footage I had a while back (I'm on the left -- gray hoodie). I was working on using de-interlacing to pull real temporal resolution out of 60i footage. This allowed for real 60p footage from cameras that didn't support that kind of frame rate.
