watch Viral Short, "Surfboard"

Hey guys,

Here's a viral short my company, The Cynical Owl, recently produced:

"Surfboard"

A young couple, feeling that their sex-life has become stagnant, takes Beyonce's advice and decides to switches it up with a thrilling sex position. However, their experimental night of passion turns out to be the worst night of their lives.

Just curious, what makes this a "Viral" short?

I liked the premise, but felt it was a little light on content given the running time - I think you could have taken it a lot further once the 'situation' developed.
There's so much you can do with the 'body in a bag' setup, especially if you're contrasting her thought that he's dead, the audience's knowledge that he isn't, and third-party character's lack of knowledge of what's in the bag. I'd have liked to see something like she disposes of the bag, but it goes through a couple other situations - maybe a junk collector throws it in his truck, it falls off the truck somewhere, tumbles down a hill, someone else picks it up, etc. Maybe it eventually breaks open and the guy falls out - now he wakes up somewhere in the middle of the city naked and has no memory of how he got there - the last thing he remembers is having what just assumes must have been 'mind blowing' sex. Maybe he shows up back at the apartment and ends with something like "I don't even know what just happened, but we have got to try this again!". Also - with the setup, it didn't really make sense to me that she was worried about going to jail. It was an accident - wouldn't her first thought be to call 911? It seems like you need something else to justify why she would react that way.

I liked it...here's a few things:

the "smack" wasn't hard/loud enough...but there was blood. otherwise it might not have been clear.

the music was a bit weird at around the 3min mark---sort of paradoy of 70's porn, but I hear this in some of Soderberghs stuff as well.

laughed at the joke " .....always said my....would kill you" . funny.

good transition from car to dragging bag.....

A question: I watched the credits, but am curious...

when you were filming, how many people (crew) did you use? I saw gaffer, best boy, sound recordists.....did you have a lighting team, did you operate the camera? What type of sound equipment did you use, booms...shotguns, etc...?
