Lighting an eerie scene

Hi, I am looking into filming a scene which involves drug use and want to give it a dark, eerie atmosphere. Does anyone have any lighting (or other) tips that may be useful? Thanks!

try to only light the subject and leave the background as dark as possible. also, make sure to backlight the subject so you see a bright outline around them, effectively giving their figure some definition from the background. blue and green color temperatures. wet the actor's forehead to make it look like he's sweating. use some super closeups of fingers setting up the drugs, eyes looking anxious, etc.

additionally, using unconventional extreme angles and using broken shadows (such as from the blinds on a window) on the actor's face will give it a more dramatic look
