watch Straight Edge video

i fiddled with this off and on for about a year -- inspiration was there at the beginning, but bogged down after a while. working with public domain footage can be fun ... or wearing. but i finally figured it out. still not as happy with it as i could be ... but i'm calling it done for now.

The link for Straight Edge is down on the page. There is a Windows Media and a Real Media version. Most of the footage is PD from archive.org. there is a short sequence at the end shot by a friend of mine: Error. She's brilliant with a camera. She has appeared in some of my Otep videos as well -> Jonestown Tea in particular. The music is PD (with a credit) from www.novinyl.net. good techno music available there for those looking for background music.

i put this one in experimental instead of music/commercial, because i think it may fit in this category better. not entirely sure.

That's some rather
smiley_tinfoil.gif
stuff in there.

I didn't like this nearly as much as some of the other videos you've made.

The scrolling text along the bottom is not easy to follow, either.

A lot of the looped video came out well... particularly the parts where it didn't really look looped. Some of the other segments were not so clean.

Very nice of Straight Edge to make their tunes available like so, with credit. :)

Yup - thanks for the acknowledgement/crdeit for the music. I have heard many tracks (downloaded from my website: http://www.novinyl.net) appearing in file shares, used in films etc without credit. :) There's some more atmospheric/dark ambient stuff at the site too (by zYklus - http://www.novinyl.net/artists/Zyklus) for anyone wishing to use it.

I really like some of the files at your website too, some quite interesting/atmospheric stuff: yo may wish to checkout http://www.micasamovi.co.uk/ I have collaborated with these guys in the past (supplying the music).

NoVinyl kicks butt with serious music for the video maker. Glad to see s/he dropped by ...

I appreciate the comments, Zen ... I've worked on this one for quite awhile, but never really got the vision that I wanted (no fault of the music .... i just couldn't seem to pull the vid together). I kep all of the preview files, so I'll probably revisit it some day.
