Halogen/Incandescent/Fluorescent

I'm beginning to stock up on the essentials for my first project and lights are going to be the first thing I get. I want to have a three point light setup but definetly don't have the money to buy a professional kit. I'm going to head over to Home Depot tonight and get several reflectors but what I was wondering is whether I should get Halogen, Incandescent or Fluorescent. I'll be primarily shooting inside and will use bounce boards when I'm outside. Any suggestions on what type of lights would be greatly appreciated.
