2 Months until Reel Authors Cycle One Deadline!

Note to all writers! Start finalizing those scripts as the Cycle One deadline is approaching on March 31, 2012!

*International Break Out Screenplay Contest http://www.reelauthors.com/ -For all genres, both TV and Film scripts are accepted

*Pulsar Sci-Fi Screenplay Contest http://www.scifiscreenplaycontest.com/index.php - Exclusively for Sci-Fi Film and TV scripts

Contest entry: $25.

Contest entry with full analysis: $45.

At Reel Authors, we've all been in the industry for so long, that we wonder how new writing talent can ever be discovered if screenplay contests continue to be so subjective?! So we made sure that we have different readers for each genre (meaning readers only read scripts for genres they truly love!), (as well as having an even ratio of male and female readers), that way, contestants can be 100% sure their script will be read by someone who appreciates that genre (for eg. a Western script will be given to someone who loves Westerns, not someone who loves RomComs and despises cowboys).

Therefore screenplays will be judged fairly on talent and industry related content (Reel Authors offers an industry orientated scorecard complete with an analysis of approx. 400-600 words) so writers know exactly where they stand and have full assurance that the readers have read their scripts to its entirety. (I'm sure a lot of you would have experienced doubt as to whether a reader actually read your script or just skim-read the first 20 pages!)

We're also on Facebook! 'Like' our Pulsar Sci-Fi Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pulsarscifiscreenplaycontest or our Reel Authors Screenplay Contests Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Reel-Authors-Screenplay-Contests/309704425723247 and you'll automatically go in the draw to win FREE CONTEST ENTRY AND ANALYSIS/SCORECARD!

-We'll be drawing a winner every month so stay tuned to us on Facebook for results!

We look forward to reading your script!

*Sniff sniff sniff* I smell a scam...
Seems so similar to the talent agencies looking for new models that pop up every couple of months at a hotel's conference room. So I'm gonna pay you $45 to read my script and tell me what you think? So pretty much what members of this forum and a number of other forums do for free... Humm I'll pass.

Let's be fair. A "scam" is where they say they will deliver something
and do not. Here you get coverage for $45. As long as they deliver
the coverage it is not a scam.

At Reel Authors, we've all been in the industry for so long, that we wonder how new writing talent can ever be discovered if screenplay contests continue to be so subjective?! This is what I have an issue with.

First; nowhere on the site does it say who "we" are. Paying $45 for
coverage is a lot of money. I would like to know who is providing
the coverage. That doesn't seem to be asking too much.

Second; a good "reader" does not need to love a genre to provide
excellent, realistic coverage. Gender should not be a criteria either.
And a reader who despises any genre should not be covering scripts.

But as long as coverage is given this is not a scam.
