A drama about losing yourself to find others...

At fifty-six Mickeys life has spun out of control, once part of a top Rock and Roll act, he is now a shell of his former self. With his voice gone, and his money drying up he decides to go on one last tour, only this time it's not for screaming fans, it's for himself. Having alienated everyone who has ever cared for him he realizes he must rebuild the bridges he has burned, but along the way he comes to one he did not expect, following the sudden death of her mother Melinda, Mickeys estranged daughter, calls Mickey at the request of her step father to invite him to the funeral. Not knowing how to react Mickey agrees on instinct. Mickey then deals with this sudden call by doing all he knows, going to the bar. While there he meets a spunky young lady named Jen, who after inviting Mickey to her place agrees to go on the road with him to his daughters. The visit to his daughters and several old friends makes Mickey realize who he really is, and what he must do to make amends. After years of being alone he must now come to terms with who he is, and build back up his family. Sadly the transition is not easy, as drugs are still pulling Mickey back onto his old self, and the death of a band mate makes him realize he'd rather be alone.

With the help of family and new friends Mickey realizes what he must do, and goes about getting things right, but is it too late for his old heart to handle the changes of life?

BOTTOM OF THE BOTTLE is the perfect script for anyone seeking a film that pulls at the heart, and makes everyone take a better look at themselves.

it was actually written before the wrestler, and while the general outline seems the same the paths taken are completely different. A lot of people got confused by the main character being named Mickey and believed it was a shot at Rourke which is not the case, it was inspired by Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones
