Sound designer/editor/foley technician required

Hello,

2 years ago I was part of a no budget feature film made in York called 'Nothing Man' about a man with no memory who struggles to come to terms with a troubled past after a string of murders starts to make him remember.

We have a finished cut of the film but what is really lacking is a quality sound edit. At the moment the world feels a bit flat and needs a good foley edit to bring it to life.

The film is about 80 minutes long and has been a labour of love for all involved. As i stated earlier this is a no budget production so we can sadly only offer £200 and a crate of Stella for this work to be done and as there is a fair amount to do we think this role would suit someone who is looking to get into a sound design field who needs a showreel rather than someone focused solely financial recompense.

We aim to get the film into various festivals and were the film to ever make money then you would also be involved in a profit share.

If anyone's interested don't hesitate to get in touch either on here or via jtashdown@btinternet.com

Cheers,
Jonny

I messaged my post sound guy. It's less than what he's used to, but if he's free, he might be interested. He'll get back to me if he's interested.

Hi Jonny

I know a great guy based in London who will do a fantastic job. If you PM me I will shoot you his details.

My guy passed.

I don't blame him.

Look into students, or those just graduated who want to gain some hands-on real-world experience. BTW, £200 (which comes to about £0.42 per hour @ six [6] hours of work per linear minute) isn't even going to cover expenses.

I know a guy who just graduated from a Uni in sound engineering specialising in film and is trying to build a client list. £200 and a crate of beer will be just about be OK for him. I sent over the details and told him to mention my name.

He's a very good guy, the best of the 'cheap' sound guys I know. He's also quite innovative and a couple of the Brits are beginning to use him.

I know, as I said I want the money to be more of a gesture of good will as opposed to payment. The film was a labour of love which involved a community of about 30 filmmakers and actors up in York all pulling together for 3 weeks, working 12 hour days to get it shot. We're really stuck on the sound though. We're not looking to employ anyone, rather reaching out for a helping hand.

Hope this clears things up :)

And thank you very much everyone for your help so far. Just sent off an inquiry email to gorillaonabikes guy now! HUGELY appreciated!
