Ah, yes, we know all about Finns here in Astoria. I'm named after one and also dated one for a while. Suomi Hall is right next to a theater I helped build. And I've eaten my share of Krumkake while running lights at the annual Scandinavian Midsummer Festival.
Oho, wow. I looked up both Astoria and the history, interesting! What is Suomi Hall? A venue place, a market place, Suomi information/history centre...? Do you want to share your name?
I hadn't heard about the krumkake, but it seems to resemble Finnish lätty/lettu, yammy (well, I'm reducing the use of carbohydrates )
It's a bit like a grange hall. It has a stage and space for dancing, etc. The Finnish Brotherhood meets there. I believe it dates back to the 1800s, which is pretty good for this part of the world.
