watch Bergman on Steroids! A Case Study in Sociopathy

Check out the translated, reworked and intensified English version of the epic "Cat Scene" from
Ingmar Bergman's screen play HETS  aka Torment (USA), Frenzy (UK) at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3cJiEys_VY

Theme: Man is the Cruelest Animal
What drives a man to torture his environment?
Is it sheer evil or does it spring from fear...

"If you don't bite - I will!"

It's Friday night and everyone is gone for the weekend.
Left alone is Widgren, tied to a chair with nowhere to go.
He is completely trapped and in the claws of Caligula (the Latin Professor)!

I hope you'll get a kick out of my interpretation of this evil pathetic man
and if you haven't done so already - I highly recommend that you watch the original film ; )

Feedback / discussion...

It would be helpful and highly appreciated if anyone would share your thoughts on this piece!

It doesn't really matter if you are familiar with the original film or not.
The theme is universal and touches upon the subject of fear and what that does to a man.

In this case, Caligula (the tormenter) is driven by his own fear and insecurities.
Attack is the best defense! "If you don't bite... I will" and it is this inner struggle,
(the white noise in his brain - unleashed) that we get to witness in this particular scene.

What feelings did you get from watching this?

How would you describe the atmosphere?

What impression did it evoke?

Any thoughts about the characters?

I'm more interested in the "feelings" evoked rather than the technical aspects,
even though all creative / constructive feedback is welcome!

Cheers ;)
