Video Village

All apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum. Mods, feel free to move it if so.

I'm looking to set up video village for a short film. Unfortunately, I'm not getting any help from the internet.

We have a very small budget, however if dealing out a couple hundred for a wireless transmitter will save us time and stress, so be it.

1. Can I use a wireless transmitter with a Canon 60d?
2. If not, how high up on the camera food chain do I need to go?
3. Would you recommend wireless?
4. Why or why not.

Thanks a ton in advance!

We have a very small budget (...) Would you recommend wireless?

No. You'll also need to spring for all the other gear & trappings that compose the Village; it ain't just access to a wireless transmitter. Since you're only talking about being able to spend a "couple of hundred", I'm sure there's many other worthwhile areas to put that money.

Rarely is video transmitted wirelessly to the village. The “video village” is
usually a monitor and a few chairs. Maybe a tent to keep out the sunlight.
The bigger and more elaborate it is the more time (and people) it takes to
move between set-ups. How many monitors will you be running?

Yes, you can attach a wireless video transmitter to the 60d. You can attach
a wireless transmitter to any camera. It does not save time and stress.
UHF can be glitchy and going for the cheaper RF is a downright pain in the
@$$. “a couple of hundred” will get you a system that will drive you crazy.
The " MX-50/30U Medium Power 567.25 MHz Video Sender" from RF-Video
is about $400 (I think). I've used it. A lot of Steadicam operators use this
one.

Save your money; run cable.
