[May 21] What are you working on this week?

Running test footage for the new spaceship. So far, the green and blue background screens failed with the metallic brass. I just got a new black background screen and will conduct tests this coming weekend. Black is used for pyrotechnics effects like in Video Co-Pilot. I have a feeling this will work. See what I mean below with this failed test.

Deep into preproduction now. Finishing up contracts with the location, securing costume and extras. Aiming for a June 6 and 7th shoot. Super exciting and scary.

Black could work, although you are still going to get black reflected in the brass. With blue or green you would also need to do some roto work because that's just the way it is with shiny surfaces. You could do rear/front projection. That would be fun. This tut has some stuff in it. Some of the results are better than others. But hey. Just a thought.

The metallic brass also uses the key colors of pyrotechnics and black works out. It is a color wheel theory problem. Greenscreen is used when shooting human figures because of flesh tone. I don't mind black reflection since, as my sample footage shows, it's for a spaceship in space. I will do a second shoot for the ship flying through a planet's atmosphere in natural sunlight outdoors. Thanks for the video. I am also studying greenscreen basics tutorials from B&H Photo and Tape Tube.

Working on my espionage thriller, giving feedback to two network friends on their scripts (a feature and a limited series) and working on kicking off another adaptation project (and queuing up info for another down the road).
