watch My Music Video Project

So here is a music video project I did for a class I am currently taking at school. To give you the set up, it was shot using three multi cam studio. This music video idea was inspired by the lap dance scene from Tarantino's Death Proof. I went with three backlights with orange gels and wanted that noirish style lighting. I hope you all enjoy how it turned out.

If this is a typical class at your school, I think you might have more people trying to join...

Haha. I'm sorry I should explain, the project was a music video for the class. Most of the class were going to do lip singing to songs, or just have friends who were musicians and play their instruments. I was going to do something similar, but then I decided I wanted to try something different that no one at my school (or at least to my knowledge) had tried before. I was listening to that song The Coasters Down to Mexico and remembered the scene from Death Proof and said to myself "What if I did the lap dance scene, but instead have it be a silhouette or create that noirish lighting? It started out as a fun idea and I didn't take it serious at first, but I put some more thought into it, I recognized the difficulties I was going to face as well as the limits I could do in my school's studio. I had only two weeks to film the video because I was the first to shoot their project so I ran through the idea to my professor, he was hesitant at first, but gave me his blessing. I explained to my lab class what I was going to do, I spent the first week finding the dancer and was so happy when I found the person who literally met every criteria I was looking for, down to the curly hair I wanted my dancer to have. And the rest is as they say history.

I like her. I'd have a lot of time for her, definitely...

In terms of dancers, I would have a lot more movement, attack, a lot more going on. More extreme as well from a 'noir' look, more camera angles.

Would you have a look at mine and let me know what you think?: http://www.indietalk.com/showthread.php?t=55764

It's a completely different style but you can see how busy the dancer is and how much more movement there is in the camera. What do you think? What is your stylistic preference?

Hello Gorillaonabike

I would love to look at your video, but on Viemo it says the video has been taken down.
