4 Words... Davinci Resolve Lite Free!

Nice. I work in DaVinci REsolve in a theater for most of my projects, not sure what's disabled in Light but it's probably great for people to check out.

Seems like it'd be a bit of a waste without a calibrated monitor, but you could learn your way around it going back and forth to a television of sorts.

Don't work on the actual Resolve Control Board but a control board I do, and it's quite fun!
 
It's been out free for a while now, but you could only do two nodes of correction in 1080p max in the free version, they just changed it so you can do unlimited nodes now. Still 1080p max, but that's what pretty much everyone here works in anyway!
 
I've got a first gen intel macbook pro. it was underpowered in the graphics department a bit... so I'm not that shocked, generally, that software drives some serious add on hardware in Mac Pro Towers with metric butt tons of ram and raid arrays connected via fibre channel.
